Milestones

In its serving life span of over 76 years, the Sangha has achieved numerous milestones. A few of them are enumerated below:
• Silver Jubilee celebrations were organized on 17th December 1961 at Cama Hall in South Mumbai. After formative years of growth, the members whole heartedly welcomed this landmark function. Late Shri Kalappa A. Salian, Udupi was the Silver Jubilee year President of the Sangha.
• Golden Jubilee celebrations were organized on 28th December 1986 at Birla Mathushree Sabhagar with enthusiastic support of the members. Shri P.S. Salian, Pejawar was the Golden Jubilee year President of the Sangha.
• 1986 is also the year in which Rajalakshmi Co-op Credit Society was established. It was with the initiative of Promoter members and special efforts of Chief Promoter Shri L.C. Bangera, the establishment of the Credit Society was accomplished.
• During 1987 the Sangha acquired its own office premises in Vile Parle, western suburb of Mumbai, signaling its strength and stability.
• Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Sangha were organized on 22nd December 1996 at Birla Mathushree Sabhagar. Members were deeply involved in these celebrations. Shri P.S. Salian, Pejawar was the Diamond Jubilee year President of the Sangha.
• In between these landmark celebrations, numerous functions, cultural and sports events were organized with the active participation of the members and well wishers of the Sangha, in some of the renowned Halls like Jehangir Hall.
• Platinum Jubilee functions during 2010-11 were the culmination of the functions of the Sangha. Shri Poova M. Salian, Ajekar was the Paltinum Jubilee year President of the Sangha.
i) As part of the year-long functions, ‘RAJAKOTSAVA’ was organized on 31st October 2010, enthusiastically participated by members of the Sangha including ladies and children expressing their artistic talents in dancing, singing, dramatics, and forklores of yesteryears. ii) A grand sports event was also organized for the members at Mumbai University grounds by the professional team of members in sports. iii) As culmination of all Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the final programmes were organized at Sri Shanmukhananda Chandrasekerendra Saraswathi Auditorium on 06th February 2011. During the occasion well known artists gave performances to entertain the members and guests. Members in large numbers participated in all these celebrations. Continuing to render service, in the social arena to the people who need these services most, is in itself a great MILESTONE !
